Streamlabs acquisition rumors — the OBS-overlay market is consolidating
Streamlabs parent Logitech is reportedly exploring a sale of the streaming software business. Three buyers, two believable.
Streamlabs parent Logitech is reportedly exploring a sale of the streaming software business, according to multiple bankers familiar with the discussions. Three buyers are circling: Razer, Corsair, and a private-equity consortium led by Vista. The Razer and Corsair fits are the believable ones.
The structural read is that the OBS-overlay market is consolidating. Streamlabs has been losing share to native OBS plus third-party plugin marketplaces, and Logitech does not have the engineering investment runway to make Streamlabs a winning standalone product. A strategic acquirer with overlay-aware hardware in the lineup makes more sense.
