Shure MV6 review — the $149 USB mic that quietly eats SM7B Lite sales

Dynamic capsule, real noise floor, USB-C, on-board DSP that does not sound like DSP. The streaming entry tier just shifted.

The Shure MV6 lands at $149 with a dynamic capsule, USB-C, an on-board DSP that does not sound like DSP, and the cleanest noise floor of any sub-$200 streaming mic this year. Shure also kept the MV7+ at $279 — which means the MV6 is the new entry point into broadcast-grade.

The DSP detail matters. Most USB mics in this band ship with aggressive auto-gain and noise-suppression that flattens vocals into a podcast-y mush. The MV6 ships with a flat default and the SOLO mode applies the same EQ curve that lives on the MV7+. That is real engineering.
